This is an exciting time for us in the Florence area as we prepare for your arrival for this year's Dixie Youth Minor (AAA) and Major State Tournament. This is the second time for South Carolina and the City of Florence, that we are playing both AAA and Majors at the same location at the same time. Freedom Florence is the perfect location to host this tournament because of its size and capabilities. The outpouring of support from our community has been overwhelming both from a financial and volunteer standpoint.
We wish to offer our sincerest congratulations on your accomplishment during this All Star season and extend the best of luck to you and your team during the state tournment. Our desire is that you and your family will reflect many times on the memories made in Florence in the summer of 2009.
We have taken great strides to ensure that your stay in Florence will be a pleasurable experience. Welcome to Florence!
It is my sincere pleasure to welcome all players, coaches, officials, families, and spectators to the City of Florence for the 2009 Dixie Youth AAA / Major State Tournaments. We are honored and delighted to be hosting the tournaments and would like to express our appreciation to the many volunteers in Florence for their involvement and hard work in organizing this special event. We wish good luck to all of the teams involved, and recognize the talent and hard work required to make it this far. Making it to this tournament truly demonstrates the wonderful character of each and every player.
While you are with us, please take advantage of our many restaurants, excellent shopping, and beautiful parks. I'm sure you will find Florence's hospitality the warmest anywhere, and you will be inspired to return to Florence for a longer visit sometime in the near future.
